Closed-cell & with restoration capability: nora® Lunatec EP

nora®  Lunatec EP is a product innovation for which the EVA material was supplemented by further high-quality raw materials and thus now possesses new excellent properties. Like all other nora® EVA qualities nora® Lunatec EP has closed cells, is durable, hygienically washable, and thermoformable. These properties were now supplemented by an especially high restoration capability.

A specifically high restoration capability is often present in materials made of polyurethane (PU). Their cell structure, however, has the disadvantage that they behave like a sponge which absorbs sweat, ichor and other liquids through the open-cell surface. Bacteria and fungi penetrate the material, deposit there and can hardly be removed hygienically.

With nora® Lunatec EP a product could be developed which combines a closed cell structure and high restoration capability as well as a specifically light weight.

The advantages of nora® Lunatec EP are quite obvious:

The closed cell structure prevents ichor and sweat and thus germs, bacteria and fungi from penetrating the material. Ichor adhering to the surface can be hygienically removed with commercially available disinfectants. Even in case of damages to the material surface, no germs or bacteria can penetrate the material.

The smooth surface of the material offers good access to the shoe. The high restoration capability provides optimum cushioning properties. The material is thermoformable at approx. 120°-130° C and shows a low volume loss. Thanks to high-quality raw materials and the proven production method, the material has a long life.
